Keep your drops for real customers
Scalpers buy in bulk, come back for more and race through express checkout. StockLock puts limits where they can't skip them: in Shopify's checkout itself.
How scalpers buy, and what stops them
Fifty of the same release in a single order.
Order two, then two more, then two more.
Bots go straight to Shop Pay, Apple Pay or a cart link.
New accounts made just for the drop.
An order that gets past a limit somehow.
For a hyped release
- Max per order on each limited product, for example 2
- Max per customer across orders, so repeat orders count
- A collection limit on the release, so variants can't be stacked
- Members-only or invite-only, so buyers must sign in, which makes per-customer limits count
- Open the drop on a schedule to everyone once your invitees have had their turn
Being straight with you
StockLock limits what each order and each signed-in customer can buy. It isn't a bot detector and doesn't add CAPTCHAs. Shopify already protects checkout from many bots, and the two work together.
Per-customer limits need customers to be signed in. Guests can't be counted across orders, which is why members-only and invite-only drops pair so well with them.
Someone with several genuine accounts, each within its limit, isn't over any limit. Invite-only drops based on real purchase history are the best answer to that.
Fast to set up
Limits are fields on your products. A drop is one form: products, who's eligible, how many to invite.
Clear for real fans
Shoppers see the limit on the product page and in the cart before they reach checkout, in your own wording.
Holds when it matters
The busiest moments are when limits must hold. Checkout enforcement doesn't depend on our servers being reachable.
